Yeringberg Chardonnay straddles the magic sweet-spot between a bold, traditional toasty Chardonnay and the modern fresher styles in the variety that the Yarra Valley has become known for.
Peach and fresh apricot, a little flint and struck match, cinnamon oatmeal, maybe a flicker of aniseed. It’s flavoursome, yellow fruit, but bright in almost grapefruity acidity, a light chalky feel to it, and a bright and intense finish offering some lemon zest and spice. It’s a little pithy with it. Lively, crunchy, wonderful.
