The Vanguardist range represents the epitome of what we are about. Pushing the realms of standard winemaking to deliver intrigue, excitement and utmost quality, without any loss of sense of place.
About one-third of the co-harvested Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc was destemmed and fermented on skins for about twelve weeks, in oeuf. The balance was foot crushed and “whole bunch pressed” after about 5 hours of skin contact.
This was transferred to old oak barriques and went through a natural fermentation. The wine underwent elevage on full lees in oak for nearly twelve months prior to racking by gravity and bottling unfined-unfiltered. -
